Hello, my name is Ollie and I have been doing karate since Year 6 (age 10). I am currently a brown belt (something I used to dream about when I first started). It’s taken a lot of hard work and determination to get here but I’ve enjoyed every step of the journey.
Karate has taught me lots since I first started such as discipline, confidence and to never give up. Seeing my skills improve always makes me smile.
I first started karate because I was quite tall for my age when I was younger (and still am) and I wanted to improve my confidence not just in karate but in social situations.
I also really enjoy helping others learn. Being a junior leader has helped me realise how much I like teaching, supporting others and seeing them grow in confidence and ability. It’s just as rewarding as improving my own skills.
